About Sharon Colvin and her Dogs

My career as a dog trainer began when I was 11 years old, training the family dog in 4-H. I earned my first Golden (Banrigh) when I was 19 by working at a kennel.  Golden retrievers have always been my “heart” breed, but I have trained a wide variety of dogs, including a Lab, a Chihuahua, a German Shepherd, and a Papillon.

I starting showing in AKC obedience in the early 1970s. Most Goldens I have shown have earned a place in the Obedience Hall of Fame with GRCA (Golden Retriever Club of America). Over the years, I have earned 3 OTCHs with multiple HITs and HCs. My dog Chilly has earned 6 perfect 200 scores. He earned his OGM title in August 2013. He was the 79th OGM of all breeds and the first in Washington State! His most recent achievement is one I’m particularly proud of — Chilly was 1st runner up at the 2013 National Obedience Invitational in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Although my focus now is primarily on obedience, I have also competed and titled in rally, agility, freestyle, dressage, dock diving, and field.
